Dreamshadow®
Dreamshadow® Group, Inc., is a Vermont-based non-profit dedicated to applied philosophy based on the study of Alfred North Whitehead and the research of Stanislav Grof. This website and the journal, Drops & Buds, is a project of the Dreamshadow® Group.
Our mission is to foster the creative application of exceptional experience, with an approach that combines personal development and community building in the context of a process-based metaphysical framework. Our educational program has two basic aspects: the practice of breathwork and the study of classic philosophy to facilitate deep personal exploration and strengthen the ecological and spiritual connections to the cosmos that modern culture has disrupted. We offer breathwork workshops and training, online study groups, and conferences in partnership with the Center for Process Studies, the University of Exeter (UK), and others.
Goals
- Facilitate personal development
- Support the breathwork community
- Explore and promote a process philosophy/psychology-based framework for understanding exceptional experience
Dreamshadow® Transpersonal Breathwork is an applied, practice-linked philosophy that uses the method of breathwork as a modern shamanic practice for self-discovery through cathartic re-experience of events from a person’s biographic history and the process of birth, as well as the potential apprehension of archetypes and events in the cosmos.
The experiential aspect of Dreamshadow Transpersonal Breathwork, based on Stanislav Grof’s holotropic theory, uses a combination of group process, intense breathing, evocative music, bodywork, and expressive drawing.
Our workshops provide a safe setting for significant personal experiences. They do not substitute for psychotherapy, but the experiences they foster can significantly deepen and enhance psychotherapy and personal growth efforts included in the spectrum of healing endeavors.
